The built-in flash has a guide number (GN) of 9.2 (ISO 100, meters) and covers up to a 17mm focal length (35mm equivalent: 28mm). The recycle time is approximately 2 seconds. Flash modes include Auto and Manual Flash On/off. The maximum flash sync speed is 1/200 sec with compatible Speedlights. Flash exposure compensation is +/- 2EV in 1/2 or 1/3 increments, and flash exposure lock is available. Second curtain synchronization is supported. The camera has a hot shoe but no PC terminal. External flash compatibility includes E-TTL II with EX series Speedlights, and external flash control is available via the camera menu screen, except for wireless radio flash shooting settings.
Shooting modes include Scene Intelligent Auto, Creative Auto, Portrait, Landscape, Close-up, Sports, Food, Night Portrait, Program AE, Shutter priority AE, Aperture priority AE, Manual, and Movie Mode. Picture styles include Auto, Standard, Portrait, Landscape, Neutral, Faithful, Monochrome, and User Defined (x3). The color space options are sRGB and Adobe RGB. Image processing features include Highlight Tone Priority, Auto Lighting Optimizer (4 settings), long exposure noise reduction, high ISO speed noise reduction (4 settings), and auto correction of lens peripheral illumination (up to 20 lens profiles can be registered in the camera). Creative filters such as Grainy B/W, Soft focus, Toy camera, Miniature effect, and Fisheye are available during image playback only.
